NOTE: Access Code is Doncaster. The web master tacked this for hiding
the info on living persons but I have removed any personal information. So, the full
site and the Guest Book are available with that code. Thanks!

Welcome to my puzzle in progress! Thank you for visiting. My site is an
ongoing adventure and as adventures go, it is bound to shift course as I add new
information and revise/correct existing information. This is a hobby and not a
profession so although I try to confirm sources x 3, I am sure there will be
inadvertant source/data errors, mismatched links, incorrect information, and other
boo-boos so check back for changes and please contact me for corrections,
revisions, links, etc.
Some lines are designated as theoretical (see legend below) and based solely
on speculation. They are marked for further research with (?) and amount to
just an educated guess based on researched proximity, family connections, groupings,
etc. collected thus far.
___________________________________________________________________________
LEGEND:(+ = presumed ancestor)(* and # = by marriage)(+* = presumed closest
common ancestors) ( (?) = theoretical only--looking to support or deny).

I also invite you to try VALERIE JEANNE's ANCESTRY (link on sidebar) for a more
expanded database with sources. CHECK THE GUEST BOOK FOR SIGNERS HAVE
INFORMATION THERE! If your family is here, or should be here, I will gladly post
confirmed info with photos/documents you would like displayed here.
(Scroll down to bottom of page to view list of Last Names).

My father Marino PIPPI was a first-generation American. His parents, Francesco
and Orsolina LUCCHESI separately emigrated from Italy through Ellis Island
and later met and married in Stockton, CA. She told me that she descended from the
lost Etruscian culture (hardly traceable!). My father once mused that he thought our
Pippi line came down from King Pepin. Ironically, I recently found lineages to King
Pepin--but through mom's line! My mother Lillian Patricia TROXELL, came from
a long line of emigrants from Europe to America dating back to the 1500s--Quakers,
French Huguenots (Protestants), Catholics, Jewish, Calvinists--you name it. In
keeping with her closed-mouth attitude about her "roots", mom would not tell me her
family's religion. Finally one day after my pestering, she said "Oh...Episcopalian!"
It took me months to say that word right, and I certainly never knew her to visit an
Episcopalian church. She did mention that there were "a few Quakers" in her line and
I was told that my middle name, Jeanne, represented mom's "French side", but she
never told me what that French side was. HENRY HOWARD MIKELS and ANNA MAE
HOBSON were my mother's grandparents through her mother Luzelle MIKELS. Our
MICHELL/MIKELS line descends from WILLIAM MICKLES and CLARA ENGLAND--through
their sons Thomas (to Henry Howard) and William (to Anna Mae). (Updated family
information 11/11/06: Anna Mae's second husband was George Franklin Isenhower,
who shares common ancestry with President EISENHOWER through Johann Peter and
Anna (Dissinger) Eisenhauer. The son of George and Anna Mae is my mother's half first
cousin.) It was earlier thought that Christian Michell/Michael was a brother of one
of our Mikels ancestors, but new information to be posted has shown otherwise).
UPDATE DISCOVERY MICHELL/MIKELS ANCESTRY 04/04/2008: Our Mikels historian Rose
Haddle has sent info now available on our MIKELS ancestry that appears to go back to
two Michel lines: The "Michielsz" Dutch lines culminating in a Rev. Jonas Michielius
arriving from Amsterdam to "New Holland" about 1628 and a second Michel line deriving
from Scotland and Ireland (Scots-Irish), which is the line of our Mikels ancestors.

My mom insisted that her mother Luzelle was French and 1/8th Cherokee, but I have not
found any direct French/Cherokee connection. I do have a BOLAND/BOLLING line
for which I have not been able to find firm documentation.

The HOBSONs in America begin with GEORGE HOBSON and ELIZABETH LINDLEY.
("The name Hobson is tied to the ancient Ango-Saxon culture of England. It comes
from the given name for a son of Robbert, which was originally derived from the
nickname Hob. Hobson is a branch of the scottish clan Robertson".) They had
connections with BARNES lines. My TROXELL/EASTON genes kicked in when
grandma Luzelle MIKELS married Emory Ellsworth 'El' TROXELL. His parents were
CHARLES OSCAR TROXELL and BELMA EASTON. This Trachsel/Troxell line emigrated from
Bavaria in the early 1700s. (see TRACHSELWALD CASTLE on sidebar.)
The records of the Reformed Church, Lenk, Semmental, Berne Canton, Switzerland (1367
a.d.) refer to the first founders as 'DRACHSELL, the bold, courageous, venturesome,
truthful, honest office holders...'. Direct ancestor John Troxell (b.1761) was
one of the first settlers of Gettysburg, PA. One of his cousins was George
Jacob 'Big Jake' Troxell, who became a Cherokee Chief when he married Cornblossom
of the Powhatan Confederation. (See link on sidebar.) John 'The Spanish Pirate'
Troxell(b.1794) sailed with John LaFitte when France, Spain, and England vied for
the Louisiana territories.

THOMAS EASTIN (b 1725, father d'ESTAING)and SARAH WHITLOCK are my first
known d'ESTAING/EASTIN/EASTON ancestors. My family holds that they were French
Huguenots who escaped the bloody persecutions by fleeing to Ireland and then
Germany. Although I have documented his family connections (in-laws, etc) back to
early times, I have not been able to document the true name of our first American
d'Estaing ancestor, but their granddaughter Exoney (through Thomas) was by marriage
related to Martha Jefferson, sister of President Thomas Jefferson. There is
growing evidence, however, that our (Joachim or Jean?) d'Estaing ancestor was closely
related to ADMIRAL CHARLES HENRI THEODAT d'ESTAING. Thomas Norman Eastin was
a 2nd cousin 5x removed whom I found to be quite interesting through a diary he kept
during his overland journey to California and the 'Gold Country.' UPDATE DISCOVERY
11/2006: The (?) indicates a theoretical lineage based entirely on
speculation to my knowledge; however, it is interesting to note that it appears that
Marie de Dreux (dau. of Robert and Yolande {Vendome} Dreux m. Barthelemy Montbazon)
theoretically descends to our immigrant ancestor Thomas Mercier/Mercer in
Chester PA, and the line of her brother Robert de Dreux m. Beatrix Courlanden
theoretically descends to our elusive immigrant ancestor d'Estaing in
Albemarle, VA.

My granddaughter's maternal STRADFORD line resides on these pages now, so far
back to DAVID B. STRADFORD and ELIZABETH AYRES (m. October 1850 IL) My childrens
paternal MCKINSEY line has also been added, so far going back to DOUGLAS
MCKINSEY and ELIZABETH PALMER married 30 December 1820. Falquier, VA tax
records appear to show Charles McKinsey and Elizabeth "Elsbeth" JETT as
probable parents of Douglas.

LOST ANCESTORS: I've created a list for those of us seeking information on a
hard-to-trace relative/ancestor. If you would like to have your "lost" ancestor(s)
posted there in an effort to get additional information, I would be happy to do that
for you. CLICK HERE.

Y-DNA and mtDNA Information related to my line can be assessed by CLICKING HERE

SURNAMES: Surnames evolve, so I generally use the most commonly used
modern spelling. You can see spelling variations by CLICKING

SOURCES: I do not list all sources here. I try to research three independent
sources before I feel confident about posting but even then, without having a paper
trail for every distant person on our trees, ultimately we rely on input by hopefully
reputable sources. I use the LDS Ancestral Family Number (AFN/CD) to provide a unique
number for an individual to help differentiate those with same name and born about
the same time but actual information is not based on LDS alone.

Thanks to all who have contributed to our one-big-family tree! As for me,
after six years at this, I am still stunned to find all these ancestors! I never
imagined when I started this search that I would get past finding the names of my g-
grandparents.

MY HOBBY WRITING CORNER:
I love to write but my mind simply digresses too much to put a coherent book
together. So, I stick to journaling thoughts at my blog site: Steams of Consciousness.
I was caregiver for my father at the end of his life and kept a journal of
that intense and awesome time of Spiritual growth. I have posted excerpts of that
journal. See: POPPY (20 pg).

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
